For history and architecture enthusiasts, the Parco della Cultura by landscape architect Antonio Caregaro Negrin offers a glimpse into the past, as do the fascinating churches of San Teonisto e Compagni Martiri (1043) and Santa Maria Assunta (1597) in Mogliano Veneto, embellished with frescoes by Giuseppe Boldini. A few kilometers away there are also internationally renowned cities of art, the most important of which is certainly Venice, but also Treviso and Padua.
Sports and nature lovers can take slow bike, jogging and trekking routes, including the Sentiero di S. Antonio – Fossalunga di Vedelago, the Sentiero Casale sul Sile – Musile di Piave – Portegrandi, the Sentiero Vedelago – Quinto di Treviso and the Sentiero Zelarino – Lungo Dese, starting from Peseggia. The Lido di Venezia, famous among other things for the Venice Biennial Film Festival, as well as the islands of Pellestrina and Punta Sabbioni-Cavallino, are also easily reachable by ferry, while the nearby beaches of Jesolo, Caorle and Chioggia-Sottomarina are reachable by car.
A few steps away, you will find trattorias, inns, pizzerias, but also golf courses, swimming pools and spas for a stay dedicated to relaxation and good food. Don’t miss the fish market in the square every Monday morning, a perfect opportunity to discover the authentic flavours of the area.
